Autumn Baked Pears

Autumn has arrived. The air has cooled and the leaves have turned to vibrant reds and golds. Baked pears easily embody autumn. When roasted until tender, their natural sweetness shines with cinnamon and brown sugar. I know you’ll love this simple baked pear dessert recipe. It’s a perfect way to enjoy the dip in temperature and to welcome all the cozy goodness fall has to offer.

Autumn Baked Pears

Ingredients

5 or 6 medium pears, ripe

3 tsp cinnamon

1 ½ tsp nutmeg

2 tbsp brown sugar

¼ cup melted butter

1 ½  tbsp lemon juice

2 ½ tsp maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  2. Cut each pear in half and scoop out the core.

  3. Place each halves into a non-stick 9x13 baking dish.

  4. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over the pears cut-side up.

  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until pears are soft.

  6. Enjoy warm with ice cream and chopped walnuts.
